Thread regarding VMware layoffs

This is what it's like for customers under Broadcom

Price increases, unresponsive reps, reassigned reps, missing reps.

I'm pouring one out for my friends in arms at VMware.... I'm sorry
🪦 Pour one out for a Real One, RIP 🪦

Just got off the phone w/ our rep, and all I can say is I hope there's enough alcohol to quench his departing soul...

The pricing on our quote went up, since we don't utilize cloud and our core count is 5x what it was on our original hosts the price went up by 30%.... Oh yay, we get free vcenter licenses and Log Insight Manager.... I'm sure mgmt, will give 2 poops about that....

In honor of our rep, I shall drink a few shots of good Tequila for you this evening.... You deserve it, he sounded so defeated and like he had already had 2 calls that day that totally su-ked. He was actually happy we had a nice conversation, I really wish I could do more. Told him, if he comes down to me i'll buy him beer and lunch cuz he's that nice of a person.

But just have to say, sc--w Broadcom, this just su-ks and i've been a customer since virtual server....

I think, some customers will win and others will lose in this pricing.

If you purchased an ELA on CPU-Sockets and now the core licensing is in place, you may lose out based on your core count.

If you had a la carte, so vSphere Ent, vRNI, NSX. but no Aria. Yes your now paying for full VCF that will be more.

I think the key thing is discounts. Anyone at a Huge company knows VMWare gave great discounts off list. If those discounts don't happen anymore, then they will pay more.

From what I'm hearing Broadcom cut prices on some products but then bundled them creating a higher cost for customers.

From what I can see from the new price list, most licensing will get "cheaper". Only the "Na--d vSphere" could in some cases be a bit more expensive. But that's more due to the Subscription core count than the new prices. Just saying!

They are talking about a VMware AE. Further down they talk about the rep having problems with transferring to Google Email.

When you say rep?
Do you VMware AE? Or a distribution reseller?
