Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Optum "Care" - is this the future of US healthcare?

Since we don't discuss these things internally, and Optum now has 10% of US physicians employed or "associated" with them, is this what we should expect from US healthcare? How can we turn the tide?

This is fairly accurate and in fact there are even more rocks that could be turned over. A consumer who seeks care from Optum and doesn’t have a strong advocate is at the mercy of a very broken system. Not sure how bad it’s gonna get but take my word for it - the issues raised are happening all across the country and being driven by Optum/UHC hunger for profits over people. Until enough state Departments of Insurance (or CMS) crack down, health care will be sketchy at best

I recall in town halls five years ago leadership making the announcement the company was moving towards the Kaiser model. Much of that leadership is gone now, but certainly seems to be true with all the hospital groups acquisitions and the clinics being opened?
Btw people posting subscription links is totally lame! Go peddle that elsewhere and just state your view!

No sh-t primary care is falling apart, medical claims and medical companies make it near impossible for ACTUAL positive treatment with conditions. Just need to move to socialized healthcare so that way the cun ty medical companies can die off.
