Colleagues, this process will take along time if it goes forward. Sears and Lord n Taylor hung around for a long time after their respective buy-outs. Downsizing did occur, but a previous poster stated, that if you are in a big store in a THRIVING mall, you have little to worry about in the short term. This entire process will take years, not weeks or months! Who wants to buy the building/land in a depressed mall in a depressed area? The real estate market is on its death bed at this moment in time. Maybe the investment group will sell South Coast, Aventura, and the Galleria to the government enabling them to will build section 8 housing. Just thinking!

Friends on the street think it's a done deal. I hope not! One thing is certain, there will be lots of changes in 2024.
They can't build condos fast enough where my store is. Macy's owns the land under the store. Building would come down and condos would go up. It took 3 months to close down the last store in the area to close.
OP. If you are in a big store in a THRIVING mall you may be most at risk and should be looking over your shoulder. When Eddie first started selling Sears and Kmart stores he sold some of the most attractive stores and locations first to make big money quickly. Then he moved on to other locations. I hope your store stays open and is not sold. I'm not so sure about ours. Good luck.
Probably not years, these are short term investors. IF it happens with Arkhouse and Brigade, it goes fast. They don't run companies, they split them up and make huge, short-term gains for their investors. Whether they agree on an offer, is another thing. It's certainly not a done deal. But I think it happens. Especially with Shein doing an IPO and insider trading by the CFO, on Black Friday, of all things.
The relevant news the author posted is authentic...What ever happens will take along time... years. You don't walk into any operating company, purchase the company for billions of dollars, and begin the process the next day. This is reality!
People, please use this forum for news, not speculation. We are looking for relevant news related to possible buy out of the Company. Thank you.
