401k question

Hi Macys folks

anyone know what will happen to a 401k you left with the company if it sells or goes under?

You are incorrect. A pension doesn't require the company to stay "afloat". The Macy's pension is protected, by law. If you are receiving payments, they will continue.

Your investments are yours and will still be accessible, you can also roll them into a new employers brokerage or into a separate one of your choosing. A 401k is not like a pension, which required the company to stay afloat.
