Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Dec 15 grants were approved today.

This news specifically mentions inducement award to new Vmware employees that were offered a role by Broadcom.

Does this mean the welcome RSU awards would show up in fidelity in upcoming days? Is there anyone whose welcome RSUs already started showing up in Fidelity?

Should reach 10k by end of 2024. Several BUs to be sold soon and a few divisions in existing BUs won’t show enough profit and be sold off as well. Expect lots of collateral damage.

BC has 20k employees and they made 36B. BC projects VMware will make 12B …so how many people will need to be there. Do your math?

Has anybody received the Dec. 15 grants in their account yet? I thought it was only supposed to be a couple days before they showed up?

How many employees are still left at VMware. Are all the layoffs done.

If you are in the November offer group that was approved and Granted Dec 15, the first vest is March.

The EU folks who get grants after January or February offers will see them granted in March, first vest not until June.

The point of this post is not calculating the number of employees laid off. When are we getting the welcome RSUs in Fidelity account? The first vest date is Dec 15 or next year March 15?

This seems accurate to me, is there something else missing in this equation such as other regions. I don’t know the percentage of 38k employees in each region that has not yet got offers. Seems like we can make an accurate prediction based on that press release.

Wow really. AFAIK, everyone with full time offers in the main four BUs minus EUC and CarbonBlack got welcome RSUs. So this mean VMware will have around ~14K employees. Of course Europe is not done yet but it can be max 2K , so 16K/38K, means BCM is keeping 40% of VMware only.

A bunch showed up in mine yesterday.

"YOU BOUGHT RSU#### BROADCOM INC COM (AVGO) (Cash)". Four transactions. Lots of shares. But, I'm in EUC and did not get welcome shares. This was for the previous vesting period.

The welcome grants are not showing up yet in fidelity. Only unvested VMW stocks converted to AVGO started showing up from sometime last week

There are still a lot of consultations going on in Europe and elsewhere. A lot of people haven’t received letters yet and hence no RSUs either.

Read the release. They made grants to a total of 13,856 people. Is that all they are keeping? Didn’t there used to be 38,000 people? Maybe not everyone gets an RSU, but still….that’s a big gap.
