There was not any real reduction in layers. All they did was move people around to make it look like they reduced layers. Why is there a VP, Senior VP, Senior MTO, MTO, etc. They keep recycling the same incompetent managers into different "roles." A quick look at the organizational charts in the TPT will clearly show they have not eliminated layers.
However, the "leadership" will get their bonus, their stock, their raise, their salary for being on conference calls asking the same asinine questions of why this and why that, yet its the people doing the work who are being cut.

Signal mgrs don’t have a clue how telecommunications works. They are like deer with headlights in their eyes. About all they know is to wiggle ground wires at a telecom site .

Telecom Mangers???!!!! Now that's a worthless position, every time I've seen one, they have that "Lost in the Sauce" Look. Chop em all and put the Comm Techs with signal. BO-M, just saved UP millions!!! Brilliant!!!

Maybe they need incompetent managers to manage incompetent employees…….always laugh when I read posts like this. Most people writing this nonsense don’t have a clue what their managers duties are or the hours they put into the job. Some people just want to complain.

Let's see the VP tells the next manager what he wants, then that manager tells the general director what he wants, THEN General director tells the directors what he wants, THEN those directors tell all the front line supervisors what he wants, THEN finally front line supervisors tell US the Ground Pounders what he wants. Amazing isn't it.

Gotta a utu local guy located real close to the glass palace he really wants to be a manager. He’ll go around and talk out of both sides of his mouth to the managers and union employees. He’s going to make the best manager because you can’t trust him.

Disgraceful how we have managers sleeping on the job…going home early…coming in hours late…running a UP yard from home…and Superintendent’s not seeing this!! It’s time to start making them punch in and punch out after they put in their 12 hour days…Managers are the biggest scammers in at tte UPRR not the employees!!!

3 telecom managers jobs cancelled. 1 bumped back to tech job. Other 2 went to special projects.
