The inability to have honest conversations.
When you cannot give critical feedback to a leader, when you can't question a decision that's been made, when disagreements are frowned upon, when it's unpopular to point out problems.
The worst thing of all, is if your leaders retaliate, and punish people who try to have those conversations.
Great leaders encourage all of the above, and are better for it. It starts with the leaders. Currently, we don’t have many of those, as they have been a casualty of the current culture.
It’s time for Devon to take a long hard look at retaliation in the workplace and adjust the leadership accordingly, or we will continue to lose top talent.
