Thread regarding Bayer layoffs

Any news from a production facility yet?

Is there any news from one of the production sites yet? I know Muscatine was a front runner but hadn’t heard if there were any layoffs there. I think KC is 2nd but I don’t know when that was supposed to start.

KC is starting to notify those who are going to be let go. Rumor is those layed off will find out before the end of the month.

Between the packages that were handed out and roles that were left unfilled, Muscatine's headcount was reduced from 470 down to 423. So right at 10%.

Thank you for the update on Muscatine. This info is helpful. I feel for those who were impacted. Such a difficult situation.

In Muscatine 20 individuals who opted in for packages received them, four were in leadership roles. 7 people who did not opt in were let go with packages, none were in leadership roles. There were approximately 37 people in leadership roles compared to 9 now. Unsure what those individuals will be doing now.

I am hearing estimated 10% layoffs or just under that at my facility. No specifics on when or who though so not sure how true that number is.

Rumor is 50%+ reduction in management at Muscatine. I haven't heard the news for non management positions yet. I also have not heard if they are moving previous managers to non management positions (and laying off someone else) or laying them off.

Bill is trying to make a big impact by taking drastic measures. He will be fired in 2 years once DSO cripples the business along with the current lawsuits, and then they will slowly bring employees back. This has been implemented at other plants and businesses in the past and is never good. We shall see!

It sounds like we should hear something by March for Muscatine. KC is scheduled as the 2nd site. From the town hall it sounds like cuts wont be exclusive to management roles at the production sites.

I haven’t heard anything about non management roles. But I am hearing rumors of three layers of management at site level for Muscatine.

I heard that it will be all technicians reporting to 1-3 site leads. It’s insanity.
