What are your thoughts seeing a bunch of "Seniors" trying to be funny and having a laugh during Whitakers Town Hall while they planning thousands job cuts the same time ?

i have seen this exact same routine in another company. i think this is done based on some kind of the HR script. the higher ups are coached to bring the employee morale up. these cheesy exercises in humor are attempts at that, directed by the HR.
Must have taken a page from the McKinsey book on cost reduction, lay people off and make fun of it.
i mean sarcastically enthinical for those who only take care of their own kind!
We need to demand that these jokers are removed. It’s time to get rid of Whitaker and his rotten management team and replace them with new generation of leadership! Enough is enough.

need to clean the house because side deals and back handed funds of corruption is evident. look a bit deeper and we wonder how SVP or DIR get to those positions when their job is only to manage 1 project. no idea. wonder how entire staff is filled lop sided with those look like each other.
Exactly. Senior leaders laughing/joking at a town hall is disappointing. The optics of it are horrible. They were probably instructed to try to make light of the situation. And why should they care? Their jobs aren't in jeopardy.
Now you see why Citi is failing. Whitaker his cronies are having fun while employees are under tremendous stress.

I failed to understand the references to BMW 3 series and then the 7 series. Was this an effort to make reference to lean production systems which date back to Sakichi Toyoda and Taiichi Ohno - the identification of unevenness, overburden and waste? As a digression the last decent BMW made was the E39 chassis.
Total disconnect with reality. Town hall was more for Wall Street investors than workers. It has been 3 months of town halls, high level org charts, and lack of meaningful information for employees, and to date we know nothing about the pending thousands of cuts. It feels like half the firm will have ptsd after the long poorly managed process.

Citi is a destitute NOT Profitable Sh!tH0le Titanic compared to its G0ds it worships, idolizes and admires, JPMorgan Chase, BofA, Goldman, Morgan Stanley and even Barclays. LOL! Citi can NOT afford "nice benefits", Bonuses, Real Salaries and Promotions. Citi Looks for EXCUSES to NOT pay better Bonuses or any Bonus at all and giving Real Salaries by downgrading Employee Ratings from 1's and 2's TO 3's-Valued Contributor BullSHi+ !!! Unfortunately we have to face the truth - as far as I can see the majority of Citi's employees are bozos. Sad, but true, so just accept you will have to give up the nice benefits and move on.

Someone should have asked on Slido about the toxic MD who was either Fired or is quitting voluntarily and outed her toxic, abusive, demeaning, demoralizing, bullying and harassing behaviour. There's a difference between constructive criticism of work and just outright psychotic bullying, mean and cruel behaviour. The OP should have also mentioned in Slido how there's going to be a Wild Party with Open Bar on the day the toxic MD is officially gone, Party Like It's 1999 just like the Prince song. LOL !
If there was a Slido, someone should have said something about this. From what I can see from previous Townhalls, Non-Anonymity is strongly encouraged but Not forced. So I've seen people post Anonymously.
