Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Hock Tan in the Ft. Collins, CO office on Friday?

What on earth will he be doing there of all places? Ft. Collins is a college town, and the BC campus there is nothing to brag about. Is he sizing the campus up so he can close Broomfield and tell us all to commute up there?

“ Fort Collins would be within 50 miles of the northern suburbs of Denver, and Colorado Springs would be within 50 miles of the southern suburbs, but there would still be a lot of people that would qualify for WFH if Broomfield was closed.”

My only question is if there is enough room.
The VMW Broomfield office took up 4 or 5 floors (I think the number was reduced a few years ago). It has been largely empty over the last several years. The Brocade office is right down the street from it. There does seem to be some room for consolidation there. I have no idea how large/small the Ft Collins location is. But that drive from the Denver area would definitely su-k for many.

Fort Collins has a town next to it called Severance. So, take Fort Collins or Severance, depending on which one is closer to you.

2 of the original BUs which Hock got his starts as CEO of Avago Technologies at a valuation of a ~1.5B company. That's right. ~1.5B->~400+B now. 1 BU has the AI now. 1 BU has the 1 North America customer. All thanks to Agilent Technologies for not recognizing what it had.
