I know a two people who where given the title of VP only because they had max out their pay grade.
So the company gave them a title and a few more minor things to do so they could give them a raise.

Sometimes instead of a raise the company will give you a title and tell you, " A title will boost your importance to the dept.
It will distinguish you from your coworkers.

Ex Finance here. Salary band 600 level ranges from the low 100 to 190k, midpoint average is about 140k with 30 percent bonus. US region. There are more vp sole contributors making upper range then the low 100 who manage a staff of 20.

I worked for State Street for many years. Many of my former colleagues did leave and either transitioned into a sales role, got hired by one of our competitors or worked in a different accounting role. @viw+1q3Wf28y - I find it very unfortunate if you are living in Massachusetts and are a VP and only making $106k. It is very expensive to live in Massachusetts. Not really surprised to read that they are laying off again.

I’m guessing VP and salary bands depend on the department? Would anyone be able to shed light on salary bands? Im also curious on rates between different sites.

Wrong the company gets rid of all workers even the excellent workers, and replace them with a H1B worker.

Remember their goal is to keep cutting expenses even if it means the customers suffer.
Due to the lack of quality work and support.

I would just like to point out a VP at State Street doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in a leadership/high level role (and paid accordingly). Particularly in the U.S, and Eastern Mass in particular, salary bands put you as a VP but you’re really mid level. I’m a VP and make 106k.
I do agree the high leadership roles never seem affected. It’s usually the mid level people that get targeted. If your entry level and get laid off, it’s usually because you weren’t a great employee and they just included you in the layoff out of convenience rather than trying to fire you.
