That was a very strange announcement... announce to wall street before you division, and before a buyer is lined up? What is the real reason they are getting rid if this so quickly? I have seen at least 2 layoffs so far this year, and they have been of talented people, most likely that cost more than others, but still.

Selling SIG to buy Ansys
I am hearing rumors of more layoffs soon for the SIG team. Some are saying they are only keeping the top 15%? Others have managers interviewing for new hires. It's like a different story comes out every few hours. They need to have a town hall to tell us what is really going on.
Awards don't really mean much do they, most are paid for these days. I keep hearing that revenue was way down, and issues on some investigation, and a lot of other stuff. We keep getting resumes tossed over here. Wish we had openings but we don't. I have been out for 5 years, but still would like to help some friends. If they were profitable, then I don't see papa bear signaling out to wall street they are being sold ahead of a buyer being sought/found. That is just losing their negotiating stance. Color me confused.
It's nothing but greed, SIG is profitable but not performing like EDA.
Cut out SIG and associated cost and would you look at that, now their Q1 2024 looks a lot better on paper.
But sc--w all those companies that SIG acquired to try and climb the app sec ladder.
The writing was on the wall all the way through the year.
The goose is loose
selling it even after them being profitable and getting awards, strange money hungry people and the christmas goose
Gotta pump up those numbers, Aart the Goose is going to get that money before he dips.
