To the person above who said everyone has at least 60 days lol my teammates were cut in the middle of the day and didn’t even finish the day. Yes they were given severance packages, but there’s no excuse for how Invitae operates - makes me wonder if you’re part of the leadership that made the decisions that landed us here to begin with. Truly disgusting!
everyone has at least 60 days of notice so no one will miss out on that and will keep getting paychecks until february
Adding insult to injury, I do believe this is also right before bonuses and 401k matches would be dispersed. What a way to let go of apparently "valuable" employees. The least they could do is give a better heads-up for those affected so they could plan out the holidays. Merry Christmas, Invitae.
And without any communication or support! We just received the email advising that layoffs are happening and to be on the lookout for the follow up calendar invite if you are affected. Entire team freakin go out and not only is our sublead out, not a peep from our actual lead. Nothing. I knew better than to expect decency from them considering how they’ve handled layoffs in the past, but doing this 2 weeks before Xmas is a new low even for Invitae. I guess those of us who survived are expected to just finish the day as usual
