so i thought this was weird. im a former employee and i forgot i had a 401k from macys which i havent looked at in 4 years.. so i get a letter in the mail saying hey btw you have this 401k and maybe you should do something with it? so after seeing the news about macys may be sold it all made sense... they know the deal is gonna happen..

They send those letters out in November every year or so. When I separated I rolled my 401k to an IRA, but I had a small amount that was taken out of my last bonus check that arrived 4 months after I left Macy’s . I never worried about it. I finally called the number on the letter and it was easy to get a check for a couple thousand dollars that I put into my IRA. My advice is just take care of it do you don’t have to think about it again.
