Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Etrade scammed us for fractional shares

Etrade credited the amount for fractional shares at 905 USD.
Expected rate for credit was 978 USD based on acquisition of VMware.

Etrade has credited the deposits in all VMware employee accounts at lowest value of AVGO shares.
Cash in lieu of fractional shares will be impossible to justify IRS, based on Etrade payout with record date of 22nd Nov.

Correct me if I am wrong but.... the most you are losing out on is some fraction of $73, right?

This is exactly right. After taxes is like $40 in a transaction probably worth tens of thousands. But, but the principal...

Do you also stop to pick up pennies on the street?

You do know that Etrade can’t steal your money, right? It’s Broadcom that made money from fractional shares.

I wish I sold all my VMW shares when I had the chance. Our manager told us to follow his lead and sell before the acquisition closed, but I thought he was exaggerating.

I was wrong and should have followed his wise guidance.

This is not Etrade issue. It’s VMware Hr not doing their job and now Broadcom HR not caring anymore.

No HR replies, no stock admin team replies.
Good luck Broadcom employees fighting this Etrade scam on this website.
