We have hired a large number of grads from Kellogg in the last 3 years. I know the reputation is supposedly impeccable but why and where did the fascination of grads from here suddenly come from?

Wait until these highly qualified Kellogg grads learn there will be no merit increases this year.
It's cheaper than getting someone from an Ivy league grad program or Stanford because we'd have to overpay for those since we don't have a big brand name
Yes OP answered his or her own question but also most of these Kellogg grads are investment bankers and we are an investment bank. How many are part of the new operating council?
