Boeing on Monday named company veteran Stephanie Pope to the newly created position of chief operating officer, likely making her one of the top contenders to take over from CEO David Calhoun when he decides to step down from the role.

She has been in the Boeing system forever and really was part of this all. Real change must happen. New eyes on everything. Out with the old and in with the new. Now all we must do is start searching. Good leaders are hard to find.

Yes management always seem to get their mo--nic children on as managers . Their spawn most the time just mess everything and everyone up in the workplace . In the end they promote them .

No, they all started out as below average capability children in well-off, well-connected families and got quickly promoted at Boeing to become the aerospace incompetent, clueless, nepo leadership that destroyed this company.

I had and unfortunate experience working for a Boeing nepo manager. The job req was never posted or was a replacement for a manager leaving. The person's dad was a Boeing manager. So, Boeing nepo manager who wasn't much of an engineer to start with or really did anything at Boeing to be noticed among their peers turned out to be a first-class bullying sociopath. They would get even more bold, as time passed in what they would do to people who had to work for them because upper management who were aware of how this person treated subordinates never called them out for the way they treated people. So, when Boeing talks about how Boeing managers practice integrity don't believe it for a minute. Most Boeing Managers if not all including Boeing Executives would choose to look the other way before correcting an abusive Boeing manager reporting to them. If Karma is such a thing, I hope it pays this Boeing manager and their boss a visit.

Name one thing good a MBA Bean Counter has ever done at Boeing. The person leading Boeing should have solid engineering knowledge and can communicate well.

How does a company that hasn’t shown a profit since the first max crash except for 1 quarter, able to offer their number two a multimillion dollar salary?

They borrow money to pay an executive millions of dollars when they haven’t shown a profit in years?

How does the Board of Directors approve such wasteful spending?

Boeing doesn't have any Leaders. Absolutely none. The one time they did have a Leader, his name was Alan Mulally. But Boeing Leadership and Board of Directors were to d-mb to see that and let Alan walk out the door. And lo and behold Boeing ends naming a knucklehead named James McNerney as CEO who started Boeing's long path to the bottom of the barrow. The merger with McDonnell Douglas didn't help maters either. Those McD guys just sped up the race to the bottom.

I bet Stephanie Pope already bought herself a multi-million-dollar home in Vermont and will WFH just like Carpet-Bagger David Calhoun does and uses Boeing supplied and paid for Jets to jet off to his other multi-million-dollar homes and go on Vacations.

Next watch the present CEO to sale a ton of stock. He will step down with a large buyout for family reason. The new CEO ie her will take the fall for all the money lost . She will also get a large buyout. Same old thing play the stock up as all line are in the hole run for the hills.
