RTO - Week 1

Anyone else think a significant number of employees are not following the 4 day RTO?

While I saw more people in the Adams building this week. Hardly anyone from my team did 4 days.

Our department is not enforcing RTO, most of us were remote before COVID and have no desks. The current plan is wait and see, but no managers are reporting anyone for not showing up.

Did anyone hear on the town hall call when questioned about the lack of desks some higher up suggested working from the cafeteria?

Why SST profit margin has always been one of the worst in large banks even the management have been doing everything to abuse and slave employee for years?

Social security for retired have increased another %5+ due to high inflation. But there is still no pay increase for absolutely most of the none manager employee at SST. Why the management still ask employee to pay themselves to commute to office 4 days a week?

The company needs to try and be more flexible when it comes to the work place.
Due a review of all jobs and decide which jobs require people to be onsite and which jobs do not require people to be onsite.

If you need to be in the office 5 days due to your job then go to the office.
But if you have the type of job which doesn't require you to be onsite, then the company should let you work from home 5 days a week. Or least comprise and have you work

3 days in the office and 2 days at home, a win win for everyone.

The person who started this thread is being a hall monitor. Keep your own head down and either do your 4 days or work with your manager to work at another location if it is more convenient. Be less concerned with what everyone else is doing. That's probably how we got into this 4 day a week back in the office mess in the first place. People take vacations, are sick or have dr's appointments, etc. Life didn't stop happening because our company wants us in the office 4 days a week now. We still have that flexibility. If you choose to take a sick day now vs. WFH when you aren't feeling well, fine, that's perfectly ok - work that out with your manager. Seriously. Stop whining. We are adults with adult jobs. Work out your challenges with your manager. They will help as much as possible. Before Covid we were expected to be in the office every day. Remember? Now we at least have some flexibility to work 4 weeks out of the year from home or offsite. Think more positive. Time would be better spent on trying to get increased commuter benefits or subsidized parking to make the new financial impact less, well, impactful.

If there were any value in RTO for me it might make sense? There isn't. Many had already worked remotely for years successfully but there is no employee consideration here. My team is spread globally. I now have greater expenses, I'm frustrated and much less productive due to time loss. Higher expectations with less focus time to deliver is adding stress, thanks for that. Having to lose hours commuting while your limited motivation is destroyed to sit alone in a more distracting environment & have calls with people working from home globally is id--tic.

The manager types are less reachable because they have to be physically somewhere for a meeting, to keep up with appearances, because their bosses told them so. It's unrealistic for them to respond to urgent emails, messages, or get back to their desks on time to get on calls.

I also noticed people are using sick team more frequently. Before the mandate, some people that got sick, continued to work when they had flexibility to work from home. Now, these same dedicated workers are less flexible with their time when the company took away WFH.

The company should be worried about the impact of their quiet firing tactics. When workers are not being accommodated, don't expect workers to accommodate their time with the company.

Quite a few in my department are openly calling state streets bluff. Including our AVPs and VPs

I was told they would not enforce a policy they do not plan to follow
