Thread regarding Dish Network layoffs

The WARN act

Did anyone receive 60 days of notice or pay? I believe Dish has violated the WARN Act. I’m not signing that letter for two weeks of pay. I’ll wait for the class action lawsuit.

Will DISH still keep WAH employees? Looks like more and more remote layoffs. Not sure if remote workers get 60 days notice.

I am currently a dish employee and I received no warning of the layoff. People I had worked with started dropping like flys. Our manager gave a statement on the 8th stating that there were to be no more layoffs in the immediate future. Who knows.

Not only was I laid off a year ago after being promoted to a training position, I was just rehired November 6th for wireless, then laid off again on November 20th. Both times no notice.

I don’t live in CO.

I was laid off earlier this year from a different company (twice in a year now). We were told in advance that there would be layoffs, then that our work group would be affected, then notice of the actual layoff, and finally stayed on payroll and tied up loose ends before the final day of work. Also, paid out severance.

Nope, paying out until end of this month. Their WARN letter says separation of 1/8/2024. Not signing either.

That's why Charlie always tries to keep the layoffs below the WARN level - he is required by law to provide 60 days notice. Instead of that, he gives you 60 days severance. It is the only reason this batch got any money. He needs to get rid of headcount faster than he doesn't want to give anyone a nickel when he fires them.

He really is screwed.

I was laid off by Dish in June 2020 with no severance either.

NOPE!! I was apart of the batch that was let go at the end of June/ Early July and we didn't get a warn act OR any type of severance. Even those in my group who where there over 20+ years. At least the round that is happening in November gets 60 day severance. I got screwed
