Thread regarding Dish Network layoffs

Racist and Exclusive

Given the insane assessments and interview process this company has, where every final app is reviewed and either denied/approved by Charlie, it’s a shock that people cannot see the blatant racism and exclusion practices HE created.

So if Charlie is doing the actual Talent work, the whole failure is on him for being a crusty racist.

Clean your plates, and throw away the Dish.

Meh as a poc who worked at Dish, I never found them to be racist. Yes, an abundance of white men in the organization but I liked the overall business-focused approach over an overemphasis on DEI. They had cultural resource groups which I loved but day-to-day the problems most workers are solving didn't require "inclusive" thinking or strategy.

I'm sure it is a white male posting in support of of this guy...
Let's review the c-suite. Let's review the comp for all groups. What group makes up lower level roles? Facts are facts

"Racist and Exclusive" I don't quite get it for what this post is all about regarding Dish's chairman. However, the followings are the know facts about him, especially when the company is a little smaller,

  • He reviewed employees' expense reports by himself
  • He created the policy that 2 people traveling together must share a hotel room
  • He reviewed and approve PO's that other companies would leave them for lower rank managers.
  • He came up with the motto "Use company's money like your own"
  • He reviewed and approved hiring of director level position and above
  • He love new graduates with certain mindsets and attitudes
  • He tried to promote company's culture called "CPAW"
  • He once said in during the ATM that he responded to someone he interview that "Your MBA from Michigan does not mean anything to me without CPAW.
  • He said "I invested every penny of my money in this company, you should do the same"
  • etc.

His projection of himself into the company is very strong. However, majority of people are not convinced to do the same thing with him while saying that they do. Probably the situation that you are seeing now is because he is too far ahead from the rest of people in the company. It seems that they have a lot to do with the success, but not the failure of the company. This is my 10 cents.

For all of its flaws, I never found the environment at Dish to be racist.

Not EVERY action by white folks is motivated in racism.

Wonderlich tests and all the rest are meaningless when the strategy is a disaster. Maybe someone should break the news to Ergen.
