Termination of Remote Employees

Did anyone hear anymore news on the plans to terminate remote employees National and Regional, starting with Managers and Directors.
This is to balance the heartburn the Canonsburg employees are going through.

Only 2/3 were working fine from home? What about the other 1/3? Maybe they're the reason why WFH is going to be gone soon. Can't blame the EMT for that.

Ah yes, the analytics excuse to deter remote working. If there are folks with a lot of idle time it is because the project well is drying up, the holidays are here, and other FACTORS that are never mentioned.

Everyone knows that 2/3 of people worked just fine from home, with way less distractions. No water cooler talk, no randos constantly stopping by requesting favors at your cubicle. Those factors are conveniently never mentioned anymore in the conversation.

Almost every major company saw significant productivity spikes at the height of the pandemic. Ultimately, this is about control, and making you feel obliged to prioritize the company 24/7/365 in your lives, along with local tax incentives that are the main driver to the RTO push. They have to meet quotas on seats filled to receive said tax relief/subsidies.

Purple Haze They combined the roles since CC knows Towers " techs" have very, very little to do in their roles. Plus, any real work that needs to be performed just gets contracted out. That's why the Towers folk are salty. The gravy train is no more for them.

@1isx+1pvl01Je that’s great, but be skeptical.

I don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer but a VP told me in August that they would not do anything to cut Pittsburgh with our aggressive goals next year…. That aged well.

Dust off your resume and brace yourself. Nothing is certain.

Word on the street is that only Tower Field Construction Technicians will be remote since they combined the role. All Managers and Directors they report to will be in offices most will need to make the journey down the purple road to reach the Purple Palace. No more remote jobs, there is a substantial amount of idle time that is being displayed in analytics that runs in the background on everyone’s PC. If you have access to the report, it’s in PowerBI typically only Director and VPs have permission to access data.

Just remember, BS supports the business, NOT the employees. This is why we must unionize

No More Workin from home, Sorry Remote

Any position that doesn't require "field/site work" can be handled from Corporate HQ. They would much rather pay a recent grad from one of their local "top notch" universities a lower wage. Field OPS personnel usually have a large area of coverage so that makes zero sense to have them work from an office. I don't expect cubicle dwellers who have never worked in a field OPS environment to understand that though. Especially when customer SLAs, KPIs are involved.

Remote Employees are Slackers!!!!!!! Not all of them are. You must be thinking of the Towers folk...hence the house cleaning. Towers "techs" definitely fit that description. They can easily be outsourced....over glorified facilities maintenance personnel. That's why some of them are considering jumping from Towers.

Are you guys dense? They said anyone who has the need to be in the region ie CM, FE, RF Engineering or any position that requires "field work" will be regional. All others can office out of Purple Palace. That being said, why would they take higher paid support staff to Houston, when they can get any local college graduate for less.

The for sale sign is on the lawn. Remote employees will probably just be outsourced. They don’t care if they stay remote. One less group to handle.

I work remotely and my manager told me there is no way that I would have to move or work in an office. So sorry for folks that have to pack it up. I contacted BS and they confirmed my job title is remote authorized.

No one wants to move to Houston, the city is terrible even their baseball team is a fraud.
We need to unite and take a stance, if you want me to move…OK, then have all remote employees report to and work in an office. PA folks should not be discriminated against and forced to move to support our families while other slackers hangout at their home all day.
Take a Stand, and think about how this move will impact our lives.

It’s so not fair that they are asking us to relocate to Houston while managers and above get to sit around in their underwear working from the comfort of their homes collecting large paychecks.
Please folks contact Business Support and let your voices be heard. There is power in numbers when we come together!
Remote employees need to work in offices just like we have to, there should not be à double standard for the Good Ol Boy network that Crown had cultivated.
