Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

This town hall…

Why is Tracey leading this? Halfway through this and she’s just wasting our time. Working “differently” is still doing more. “Cost-conscious culture” is a joke if executives took their own bonuses after taking away from us and firing over 260 people.

Someone please ask Tracey about these SEC filings with the way she’s going…hers is included below:

I am at store level there was no such invite sent to stores not sure whether this was strictly certain area or just corporate that was invited to this but there is no way to access that without the invite.

Would like to see the town hall video as well. I guess it wasn't meant for a wide audience. Still haven't seen any company communication on the recent layoffs though multiple outside news outlets have already reported on the firings at corporate. So much for transparency.

If you go back to the meeting invite and click the closed caption option, you should be able to see the recording.

Did this town hall possibly get video or recorded for others to listen to? Because if this is the person they put forward why would the company not put this out for everyone to hear. Oh I see no one in this company wants this train wreck of a town hall out there to view because frankly as disengaged as the employees are someone would put this out for the press to get a hold of. Let’s see what happens because if this went as bad as this thread says Tim Wentworth has a problem with the spokesperson put out there.

That was so painful. My god, her response to executive pay was so out of touch. She basically implied their hands are tied because a lot of companies pay their C Suite a gross amount of money. Her net worth is one hundred million dollars. Can you imagine looking someone in the eye knowing that and telling them with a straight face that it is what it is? My god, at what point did these people sell their souls?

Also, the complete reflection on the return to office. I don't even work at corporate campus but I can think of a MILLION things that people probably care about more than bUt WhErE WiLl wE SiT?!?! Gas prices. Wear and tear on cars. Corporate wardrobes. Childcare. Less time with family. Less time with pets. But most importantly, the ability to do your job just fine in a place of comfort. Why are they forcing people back? Just to justify the space? Everything about this was so gross and so out of touch.

Tracey Brown has no clue what she is doing. She is single handedly running this place into the ground. I hope Tim Wentworth watches the trainwreck of that town hall.

It's sad to watch the state of this company. Tracey, look in the mirror and maybe read another book on the best historical leaders. The best leaders are humble and take accountability. No one expects a leader to get it right 100% of the time, but when you get it wrong, say so. Don't punish people and attack them for asking the tough questions; the tough questions that you are saying you want people to ask.

No one gives a sh*t Tracey that you can play 5 sports and the drums if you aren't helping us win at the game we are currently playing. You wasted 2 hours of everyone's day berating them about decisions that most of the people on the call weren't even in charge of making.

Meanwhile, you made sure to collect your own bonus. Thank god you had that man share the Penny Popper story about how in past difficult financial times senior leaders reduced their salary. How tone deaf can you be? There's no more fat to trim? I can think of one person we can still trim...

Did Tracey kick it off by saying she can't see well out of one eye? Think she used that line in at least 4 Town Halls I was at!

If executive leadership is tone deaf, why can’t we be deaf too. Everyone, don’t show up in the office at the end of the month.

That was one of the worst performances I have ever seen from a President of a company. Wasn't she in charge of customer service for the company as Chief Customer Office. She can start with her as taking the blame. We worked hard, it was upper management who decided how the company should run. The meeting today by Tracy was demotivating, think it's time to find something else. Going in the wrong direction.

Her closing remark of “Let’s figure out a way to get back to winning” was awful. Not 5 minutes before that she mentioned how strategy was made at the executive level but now we’re supposed to figure that out for them? All of her answers were tone deaf. It’s clear she was frustrated by the tough questions being asked… Once again props to that man that stood up and asked those questions of behalf of all of us.

I didn’t catch your name but to the gentleman who has the ba--s to ask those questions to Tracy - kudos to you! To the other comment about the math not adding up of course it doesn’t. There was an article somewhere that said if steffano didn’t take a salary or a bonus that alone would have saved everyone. The money alone that they have given to Roz and Ginger along would have made a significant impact for employees. Tracy really thinks the store personnel are going to help with any of this? You sh-t on them constantly, pay them 1% merit and even some got less and you think for a second that anyone wants to try? To go above and beyond? This company is so out of touch with reality. How can they not know exactly how many seats are in the 108, 106, 104 buildings vs number of people you are demanding to come back? Figure it out the day people come back and adjust? Please! There isn’t even close to enough parking spaces for people. But yet again you make poor decisions. Look in the mirror the problem is staring right back at you. You want to see changes? Keep people working at home, show your people that we matter that our families matter and our time matters. There will be significantly less work done if you force people back to the office. I give this company hours of extra time per day because I am not driving to the office.

So, the company is bleeding money to the point that they need to lay off 260 some odd people, but all of the exec get a 6 figure bonus? How does that math? I'd bet if no execs got a bonus (like the said no one in the company would be getting) they wouldn't need to lay anyone off.

An absolute abysmal performance. The execs don’t want to hear the real answers from us while taking a bigger piece of the pie home.

I think Tracey was picked to motivate workers to quit. She’s worse than Ginger.

Tracey's specialty is talking bullsh-t in circles and never answering any questions to protect the execs from us peons.

This is pathetic. Tracy rambling on and on. Why is she screaming? At the end of the day she said the company is doing so poorly either we have money or we don’t? Clearly we do to pay the excessive salaries so quit lying to us. Quit this cr-p about trying to push us to take on more work. She basically blamed everyone except executive leadership.

The “I don’t care” attitude about other executive pay is not the answer.

Bravo to the man with the first question. Very well done. And answered with complete generalities. This woman knows no specifics. She avoided the answers completely.

She has absolutely no idea what she is talking about. So many generalities like “by a bunch.” This town hall is an email that could have been skimmed. I’d love to see someone grill her about specifics.

My take away:
They are trying to push responsibility onto us when many of us are already overloaded, especially after the cuts in February and April (part of the cause of why we're doing poorly—many teams had to scale back initiatives).
They want us to work like we did during covid, which was working around the clock and crunching to meet crazy new expectations and they want that to be the normal, all the while taking away the few resources we have when we are already struggling to meet current expectations.
