Thread regarding Dish Network layoffs

More layoffs coming

Yes. About a 20% reduction in force. Layoffs happened today and will go through tomorrow. Rumor is that another round of layoffs will occur near the end of November.

Where is this info coming from? I'm not saying this is not true, but it would be nice to be certain. Just to know exactly how worried I should be about tomorrow and for the rest of the month.

60 days is not a generous ‘severance’ package, in fact, it’s not a package at all. I was laid off after 8 months. Didn’t expect anything, but there were others on my team with decades here and they received NOTHING. This company has never nor will ever care about their employees. You can do better. Let this be a short stint on your resume, but do not stay here.

Years before all the layoffs, Dish slowly fired several of my coworkers -- experienced people who could analyze and resolve situations while doing lots of in house wok. Their jobs were outsourced to people the Philippines, paying pennies on the dollar for the same work. They traded experienced workers for people who have no idea what they are doing and can't deviate from scripted procedures to analyze situations.

So back then there were indicators how little Charlie and his ilk care about the ones who built his empire.

20% seems to be an exaggerated number for this particular round of layoffs which Dish is also denying.

However, as Dish continues its steep and rapid financial decline it will be that high and more. Stay tuned...

60 days is required by law by the Waren Act. I was given through the end of the month plus two weeks.

Incompetent leadership and moreover, dishonest. Before this round of layoffs, they hired a bunch of overseas contractors to replace the fired ones for much cheaper rate.

Directly from Charlie himself. Loose lips sink ships… satellites in this case, and humans being IMPACTED by HORRIBLE Leaders for whom are incompetent.

Hearing severance is 60 days. When they is considered generous you know you worked for shitheads

Came back from the bathroom yesterday morning. Saw my teammate take their backpack and walk out the door with our manager. Next thing I know, my manager comes back and asks me to go with him. He takes me down to HR, they tell you you’re laid off, they give you a box, let you pack up, then your manager escorts you out the door to badge you out. Generous severance package though. I was probably one of the first of many to be let go.

For what it’s worth, I’ve heard the same rumor (layoffs happening all week). It takes time to cut all these people one at- time. Be wary of a last minute meeting showing up on your calendar called “Quick Connection”. You’ll show up and find your manager and HR…. then the axe falls.

Ergen has been too clever by half and is now backed into a corner. Strategy has failed and the fat lady is singing. Seek employment elsewhere.
