end of year deployment blackout been going on for years nothing new just the busy season. somebody did something stupid in the past and now not a soul knows what happened to cause the nonsense it is what it is. duration of the blackout seems to be creeping in the past couple years a good 4 months where nothing in prod gets done unless a war room comes up. november a useless month anyway since most offshore in india not available for a boatload of holidays the onshore take their turn in december.
It is obvious the Candy Man has his plan. Offshore more FTE, offshore the contractors, Been in a hiring freeze since he started. Told not to expect to hire anyone in 2024. Told to use offshore contractors. Anyone leaves, they are not replaced.
Let it trickle into Monday so it’s not hidden. If they are going to eventually rid of you anyways, why not make them sweat about it. Decision won’t be a simple number, but with real issues on the line.
