Anyone outside of North America, get the news letter from Machteld stating layoffs are coming. Maybe not "an organization-wide restructuring". Just different assets, and teams.

I am a team leader, but I spend maybe 1% of my time with HR-related activities. Another 1% of my time is spent coordinating my team members to focus on the deliverables that our team is responsible for. And the other 98% of my time is actually spent doing the same type of work as what I have assigned to my direct reports.
So if you get rid of me simply because my title is "team lead", then you'll have to spread the substantive work that I do for 98% of my time to my 3 direct reports so they will all be working 32% more. And it will be a disorganized mess because nobody is held accountable and there will be nobody to prioritize the deliverables.
My current manager would, of course, become their new manager and he won't give a **** about them because he is a letter grade with several JG1 direct reports and would see my three direct reports (all JG4) as just as a burden. And forget about getting a HIGHER rating or an SRA---he won't care for or advocate for them as he will never know what they do to contribute. I am able to get SRAs and HIGHER ratings for my direct reports, but he would never do that if he was their direct manager.
You can set your calendar to it. Every 18-24 months the axe gets sharpened.
Deep Water GoM will go through a restructuring. This will be announced in 3 weeks time.
Most likely from P&T lots of talk of TAO'ing the engineer's, as well as moving the control panels overseas and just having outside operators.
Start with these managers/team leads that have one or two direct reports.
