I've become numb to news of more layoffs. I used to stress so much over it but not anymore. I did all I could to prepare and now I just take it one day at a time. We've been having what are basically non-stop layoffs for a few years so most of us have been forced to learn to live with it. It's sad but also true.

Take care of yourself and use every minute not spent on work finding a new job. Set a goal to get your job down to 4 hours a day. It's alot easy waking up and heading to work.
its been nonstop restructure layoffs for 15 years. you just hide in your cave do your thing and dont pi-s anyone off. if it is your time to be the tribute usually your boss is surprised like you since they are not involved in the process anyway. good luck if you are in an acquired entity the knives are savage dismantling orgs and keeping the pieces they want.
Work for another health plan and just the mention of “like Optum” in an interview and candidates run. Happens onshore and offshore. Quite the reputation.
They have a really bad reputation in the industry. I interviewed at a company today and they knew about the constant layoffs at Optum.
You are forced to do jobs you weren't hired for and if you refuse you are considered resigning from the company and they deem you ineligible for unemployment. These are the tactics being utilized by these unprofessional monsters. Get out on your own, control your own destiny before the monster consumes you and you sink. I have to admit I have PTSD from working at Optum. When I was preparing for my interview today, I was worried it would be the same at this new company and almost didn't log onto interview. IT IS THAT BAD!!!
Everyone hates Optum, and the ones that don't are ill, mentally ill.
