Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Flying out for their new roles

Tell me why are there people flying out to different cities embracing their new role at BC? Example: new manager under BC flying out to do QBR, team from India flying to Washington… do they know something we don’t know? Why are they moving on like there is no risk? Will VMware move forward with their layoff plans regardless ? Fu-k everybody no matter what hein?

Means nothing, without Chinese approval this deal will eventually fall apart. No company can stay being acquired for years. We will all get the Christmas gift of not dealing with BC. Management will have to manage and we'll need to hire again. Time to make VMware great again so we can be the ones aquiring companies.

Last Wednesday, I saw a group of young people in Palo Alto's cafeteria. They were also wearing name tags. What was the event?

"Curious about which BU they are from. For example, EUC is running business as usual regardless of acquisition status. EUC even hired people in Oct while other BUs had a freeze on hiring."

More lies spouted on here about EUC. Many of us that would usually travel frequently up to VP level have been blocked due to the VMW wide travel restrictions.

PPL hv already travelled from blore to newyork.obviously those who hv existing visas. A bigger pool was identified but many could not go due to visa. For the rest who don't know abt this. You know your date, be prepared. Those who are traveling and happy abt it, don't be. Every dog has its day

When it comes to M & A, you're either 100% confident it will close until you are not. There too much on the line and if you don't present as confident then you open yourselves up to litigation with shareholders and other entities.

I expect BC to act like it's going to close soon all the way up to the deadline at which point they will say it's not closing.

My manager the other day told me that BC has people at all the various locations ready to close and start integration but until it actually closes everything is on stand by.

This isn't something Broadcom can control at this point or it would have closed by now.

Because it's not happening. Someone is lying and you're falling for it.

I got people talking about their new roles on the same calls with people that don't have an offer. Makes me sick.

Sr. management keeps pushing the "it will close soon" mantra!!
Why do they think so?
Isn't the deal already dead?
I guess its just their wishful thinking.

My guess: fake it till you make it.

Most likely, people are operating under the assumption that the deal goes through... My guess is that they've been told to do whatever it is, because if you're a manager expensing travel that's not something you do on your own initiative. At least, not if you want to actually get reimbursed.

Since Sr. management keeps pushing the "it will close soon" mantra, middle managers are just going along with that. Plus, if the deal falls through and they don't get a different position, they still got the free travel.

"new manager under BC flying out to do QBR"
What do you mean by new manager under BC?
Someone at VMware that got the offer letter from Broadcom?
So, you are saying they already started working with Broadcom team?

I can’t confirm the India to DC one but can confirm QBR for new territories… the focus is why are they moving forward with the new alignment?

Do you have proof of this? If not, do you have any idea how long it takes for people to get visas to move to the US, even for work? Or do you think Broadcom is an exception to US immigration rules? Remember, it’s free to lie on anonymous websites
