Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Brightest Idea..

Whoever planned this out their idea was so bright the bulb burnt out...

We finished register consolidation a while back, and home was left with 0 checkouts.. They are gonna have fun on Black Friday with customers dragging items to ready to wear or kids... If they'll even bother or just order it online.

Just look at all the store managers who left the Bay Area stores. Sad.

We just had the register consolidation and it was the best thing to happen in our store. We removed a ton of wrap stands that we only staffed on the weekends when we could fill the hours. The only problem is that we have seven entrances on two different levels and only have register at three of them.

Customers can't find a place to checkout in the department and now it's less than a 50/50 chance they can find one on their way out the store. To make matters worse, our loss prevention job has been open for months, ever since the last guy made the mistake of stepping off the curb when chasing a shoplifters and was fired. Now we sit back and wager on the likelihood of customers turning around and trying to find a place to pay for their stuff, dropping it, or just walking out the door.

Nobody even attempts to stop the shoplifters. We have have the same people who come in every day and night and just grab stuff and walk out. Nobody wants to put their life on the line be approaching them and the managers just tell us to ask them if they need help, like that's going to happen.

The location in San Francisco used to be a shinning example of what a department store experience could be, but as senior leadership fostered an environment where west coast executives who actually understood the market and store were forced out because they gave honest feedback, the flagship began to sink. Welcome to the new Macy's where the best way to get ahead is to kiss up to the bosses and always tell them how good a job they are doing.

Now the store is led by a team based out of Chicago who think that continued cost saving measures will make the store successful. The quality of managers in the store has declined, results no longer matter, just the ability to "platform" and talk, talk, talk, talk.

No one is shopping in the stores anymore due to violent flash mob robberies. Do you think a family wants to get hit by a thug while shopping?
