I'm actively applying for jobs at other EdTech companies because of the Project Horizon mess. Has anyone ever heard of Cengage enforcing its non-compete clause? One application asked me to submit a copy of the non-compete clause so that got me wondering.

Non-compete clause? At Cengage?
Well, the first mistake is referring to the mess that is Cenage as an "Edtech" company, lol. Other than that, go for the gusto!
I am not a lawyer but have a background in law. The few times I have seen non-compete clauses actually enforced (and they are increasingly NOT upheld in court) is when it is very limited in scope in time and location/distance. Because most Cengage jobs are remote, their non-compete clauses are extremely likely to be unenforceable; you can't realistically bar someone from an entire industry across the country.
What trade secrets do those id--ts have anyway? Good grief.
Not a chance. DOJ has essentially made them irrelevant.
