Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

A miracle or nothing

Teradata : from leading proudly the analytics database race to struggling painfully to catch up. The bell has rung; one more lap to go and race is over.
Game’s over…unless a divine miracle. Who knows ? SMc raising the dead, HA walking on the sea, the ocean opening to let pass the Chosen People.
Any tech innovation will no longer save TD. Perhaps ELT counting intense prayers in their rosary might do some miracles.

Glad to be out of it…. Got to feel sorry next year for friends and colleagues who are stuck telling customers why they are shutting down the remaining applications not that there’s anyone left to support them anyway, for some customers its the only reason they use teradata still… can see them dropping teradata like a hot potato as no one is using the analytics…most don't even know or care about the new so called features…I’m much happier elsewhere where this sort of mis management gladly does not exist.

So the part-time, contract CTO missed the boat again? First cloud, now AI. Guess MIT was a long time ago.

The latest lame attempt to chase the AI hype and again they've missed the boat. They should have seen this years ago, but again they are in catch up mode. Or I should say "never" catch-up mode.

This is a joke of a company steered by a bunch of inexperienced losers with no understanding of a MPP database.

As so many have said, the only miracle is ELT hope latest me too AI initiative sticks and/or some company buy the place out for scraps. Regardless, ELT make out like bandits and workers get chump change if anything. Many posts of all of this in the past year.

We are now at the point of no return. That inflection point was probably around 2018 but the opportunity was missed and it's been downhill ever since.

Declining revenue, customers migrating off and lack of product innovation. It was no surprise to see more lay-offs this week. Whole teams gone in an instant and some of the smartest, brightest employees shown the door. No doubt they'll be picked up by our competitors, take their customer contacts with them and the acceleration of customers moving off will increase.
