Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Taking a poll

Out of the 3 directorates, which one gets hammered on redundancies the most.

P&T, Downstream/Power/RES, or IGU

Cause the order I listed is my guess.

Bonus question - announcement pre or post Christmas?

I say pre

The axe man Robin has been recruited to lead P&T towards a BIG shaving, so no surprise

“Rumors are that smaller cuts are already happening…”
Yes hearing some of that, but also seems to be a high level effort to collect FTE reduction counts , like for someone to roll out a huge number to the markets to keep pumping this share price . Wall Street take a look at this XX,X-X number , it’s showing we mean business and we aren’t the same company. Blah blah blah

Rumors are that smaller cuts are already happening but there is not the usual Shell transparency in announcing these to staff. The teams are being told directly and that is it. Anyone else hearing/seeing this?
Investment budgets for next year have seen huge cuts so whatever is going to happen should be obvious by Q1

P&T earmarked for a net loss 20%+/- . That’s the current prediction. But who really knows.? I think it will be before EOY whatever happens.

P&T taking one for the team… yet again.

Makes sense though. The farther you are from the bit ($$$), the easier it is to justify the cut.

P&T hands down.

I guess its easier to ramp up IDT when needed, lots of people in the marketplace have a career in that space..so cuts now and then rehire later for lower pay.

Agree on IDT. But it will be after Christmas.

P&T by a wide margin (mainly IDT) , pre Christmas … oh and no voluntary packages … only regular severance as provided by country of employment guidelines

P&T, pre-Christmas. Shell never wastes a chance to ruin Christmas. It's a tradition.

P&T gets the most. It will be after Christmas.

Probably P&T, although Upstream has probably had it worse over the past 10 years. I'm not expecting a big announcement, just a lot of smaller ones.
