Thread regarding VMware layoffs

The Wedding Analogy

Let’s say you are getting married. You set a date, sent out invitations, rented the venue. Wedding day comes, thousands and thousands of guests show up….but the bride does not. It’s time for the ceremony to start and she is still not there. The guests start getting restless, when someone asks where is the bride, you snap at them and say “Didn’t you read the invitation.” Time passes still no bride. You tell the crowd “Soon”. You have one of your groomsmen tell the crowd that you just had a secret meeting with the brides mother and she told you the bride was somewhere still getting ready, and that you hammered out the details of when the bride was going to show up. Hours later still no bride.

Hock is the groom and this is the situation we are in with the acquisition. The guests are getting restless!

@gds+1ppEbLzY And yet here you are whining about something that you say is a waste of your time. Hmmmm. Who looks foolish now?

You guys are so desperate for drama you're posting this sh-t? Wow, thelayoff is bad as the unofficial. Atleast a puppy picture wouldn't waste my time as much as this pi-s post did. Thanks but really didn't need it.

For the 1% of people that know what Duke Nukem was and for the 1% of those that gave a sh-t enough to remember that chain of events, you'd have a great analogy...

Duke Nukem is a better analogy than a wedding? What are you 12?

Stop being so grumpy and sensitive.

Great analogy! To add more, Hock is groom, acquisition is the bride, and VMware is the guests? The reason is, it is not up to us that whether or not the "bride" shows up so thats why the acquisition itself is the bride and we (VMware) are the guests
