RIF today walked out with cardboard boxes celebrated one year anniversary yesterday I was an FST until today they even had just given me a brand new truck last week i put the first 700 miles on it.......they are watching EVERYTHING they claim i was just cut because of RIF I don't believe them and will most likely challenge them...Better be on the fiber if your on tix dont cheat anywhere they are swinging the axe apprently....

This isn't true - the jobs are not all in Oregon and Wisconsin. Maybe sales and executive and all those bullsh*t jobs where they do nothing but sit in meetings and tell you you're not working fast enough.
Other operations depts that actually do work and work with field got sla-ghtered too - suddenly - no warning on november 1st, and again more quietly as Jim BU----n quietly announced more cuts on the stupid Sharepoint website, under a link that just says "organizational announcement" because he is such a coward.
sorry you got screwed out of your job but trust me...the only ones in WI/OR who are cozy right now are the ones who are so rich they don't need to worry. but they keep their jobs.
So dont get me wrong TDS treated me very fairly while i was there. Great 1st tier managers here in east tn..Alas my fears are this...It Appears that they may be exploring selling off some assets we are all aware of the possibilities of US Cellular being sold off. both companies are operating at a loss on the year.Take east tn into consideration, much of the plant is old copper ,company has recently stated they will NO LONGER install "Bonded Service" in this region.much like CL and ATT plant has been ignored for years needs upgrade or repairs and company calling "BROKE" will not .
I have watched this all in the past with 2 larger companies. at this point they are losing customers and income in this region its shining star continues to be the flagship FGT. which is currently watching 2 utility companies overlay the plant in theyre own fiber networks poised to come online 1st quarter....which will give the monopoly a healthy run for the money
As well ZERO job openings in the state of Tn....................ZERO.....they aren't back filling positions they are removing water coolers and coffee machines inexplicably they are broke however purchased ALL new FLEET vehicles this past month. jobs are all in Wisc. and Oregon.
It makes good business sense to sell off US Cellular and east tn. and focus on the markets that ARE firing on all cylinders you'd do the same. so sell and re-invest and try to come out of slump. ATT Im sure would love to take the existing fiber footprint in FGT
All in all The ramblings of an old man who has been through this with another company, watching it repeat itself. FWIW last company i went through this with and watched in the end DID IN FACT sell all operations in 22 states..Dumping ALL copper off and cutting loses .....this feels the EXACT same as that ......Just keep your options open and be aware things are happening
You ALL have clik matrix numbers assigned they play into layoffs even though they fail to mention this to you....If I had to guess ..Id say they're puttin makeup on a pig so to speak IMO they may be looking to sell Tn. The cash cow in Tn is about to get some competition from new kids on the block as well ATT would love to get the Cow ....the other areas are mostly copper fodder buy squarely in ATT reach
