The layoffs will never be complete until the very end. Staples has been managing the decline for years now and is in what's known as a death spiral. The downsizing will accelerate as they get closer to the end. Digital work has all but eliminated the need for ink and paper which have long been the cash cow of the industry. Hybrid work arrangements is now permanent driving the final nail. It's time to innovate or die. But innovation costs money and we're talking about sycamore here so there's that.
