Let him have it….vent here. That guy ruined Staples along with Sycamore. The worst thing to happen to Staples..worse than Covid.

If you are familiar with the story of Sears then what's coming should not be a surprise. Private equity (from where JL came) split off the real estate so it could charge rent to the company. Focusing on getting maximum ebitda dollars when it should be much lower so more could be reinvested into the company. The plan from here on out is to milk the company dry and then sell off the remaining bits and pieces. See also Bed Bath and Beyond.
The reason private equity owns Staples is because SG or RS couldn’t make it work. JL is a good man. He speaks his mind and I appreciate that. Sycamore has invested in Staples and attempted to make it better. That being said it didn’t work. They are probably ready to check out. All of you that failed us bi--hing about working from home multiple days of the week; good riddance.
No reason to delete. jL loves reading this site about himself. He jokes about it. He doesn’t have to work people he loves destroying companies and peoples lives.
a**hole
Anyway to have this post deleted?
Wow you people really don't like this guy. I work for one of the staple carriers. Every Staples call is cut cost, take money from drivers, and fire people. They called what they did here streamlining the company.
I worked for Staples Inc., in Halifax NS. Retired in April and saw this coming. Asking sales to do longer hours and increase productive. JL and his team only care about profit for their shareholders and lack of sensitivity by mid level managers. Thank god I left when I did and would not have been able to handle the stress with layoffs looming.
He's evil
keep it professional, site mods nix posts with swears and personal insults. just sayin'
Agreed incredibly insensitive. Many people continue to work hard for a company that truly does not care about their “humans.” The company did go significantly downhill when it went private. The senior leadership that was let go in the beginning could have transformed and led the company forward. NR to name one. What JL and co have done with the roller coaster of bad leaders is pathetic and for anyone that doesn’t see that and is safe and still employed, for now, get your paycheck and be respectful of those that work for you and appreciate those that came before you and don’t sp-t on their graves.
