Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Insight into the B2B choices that were made.

Does anyone have any insight into how they chose the B2Bs that stayed vs the ones who were let go? Some of the ones that were cut were far outperforming some of the ones that were safe. No one seems to know how/what was used to determine who kept their position and who didn’t. Unless they’re setting those lower performers up for failure, so they’ll be fired during performance reviews in January.

If you have a mouth, an opinion and are not a "yes man" you were likely let go

New strategy - new business reps will be calling into ship tos for existing business. I thought that was a fireable offense? Repackage. Or was it too many reps making too much money doing it?

My guess the oldest with the biggest salaries were in the mix of being let go
