Thread regarding VMware layoffs

The number of layoffs is looking brutal for my org. Many are transitional offers but that is still a layoff.

BC lied when they said they liked VMware for the software development talent. It is just business as usual for BC. I should have jumped ship a long time ago.

I get sick when I think of the money the leadership team and Dell are making. I laugh when I see a Forbes post about Dell donating money to charity from his payday. Hopefully that makes him feel better when folks are filling for unemployment.

They’ll develop the bits they can make money from, clearly the bit you work on doesn’t make money.

Donating $350M to your own charity or your family charity amounts to a tax strategy, not virtue.

Even if Dell donated billions it would not replace the lost yearly income of the people that are being laid off.

Era don't worry about it, the deal is as dead as hocks charisma.

It isn’t intuitive, but since these folks have billions of dollars, even when they donate millions, it is a blip on their net worth. By analogy, if you make $100k, it is like donating $100.
