This is a tragedy for all those who lost their jobs. We are experiencing harsh and unstable economic times, and for Staples to pull this off without the slightest hint of warning is unacceptable. I hope you are able to retrieve your severance pays, pensions, etc, because Nova Scotia has weak rules for protecting employees affected by company insolvency.
B2B here, I was also let go.
Same story different year. I got impacted a couple of years back. After contributing for over 20+ years and making quota got let go by my useless “yes man” “spineless” manager who didn’t say one word on the call with HR . I’m sorry for those who have been impacted and it might be difficult to hear this today, but I assure you there are organizations out there that will value you and treat you with respect.
This is devastating. There was absolutely no rhyme or reason to the ones who were let go vs the ones who stayed, at least in the B2B org. The ones let go from my team were excellent performers and they kept one that wasn’t selling anything. People just hired over the summer and doing well were even let go. We haven’t been sent severance packages yet, so yet again in the dark about our future for another agonizing day. This is complete bullsh-t.
Marty didn’t have the respect to be on-camera during any of the group calls. Coward.
It shocks you today, but trust me after 15 years invested in their success.

Huge portion of B2B org gone. Some teams got it worse than others. No discernible pattern for who was impacted and why.

Almost all B2Bs at least in mid-market. Anyone remaining was notified they’ll have a new role moving forward
Lost my job in Halifax today. Departments affected - BDR, iKAM, account specialists (reactivation and the new digital enrollment team), account managers.
1 DMM in retail, couple of planners, some realignments.
I will think USR IT with the big register crash today

Me. Found out at 6 a.m. My director was waiting for me when I logged in. I am not in sales. I was a full-time remote employee. Been with the company for nearly 20 years. C'est la vie! I was told I will be getting severance but no word on that yet. I am no longer valuable to them but I know God has a better plan for me. Best wishes to the rest of you!
