Any truth to Walgreens lowering the retirement match in an effort to cut costs?

Saw a comment mentioning quitting on the spot if they got that email and it was the last straw for me. Fortunately my offer letter came that day as well for another opportunity as well. The worst year of my life due to stress, and toxic work environment. Don’t be afraid to jump folks because they would replace you overnight if you died. Let the “attrition” they are hoping for become the mass exodus they so deservingly need to experience.

@pmu+1pmabHXT link to story. CNN appears to have scrubbed. Shocker🙄 PLENTY of articles around the scandal however (of course- primarily the media rushing to shield her comments which if said in reverse would destroy a career in a split second). And again- her interesting choice of ‘nudge’. Maybe soon we’ll be allowed to speak of the unholy alliance between 1600 & RB/WBA…

“Brewer, who, according to Forbes, was the first female and African-American woman to lead a Wal-Mart division, said in a recent interview with CNN, that she felt disheartened that the company’s suppliers usually consist solely of high-ranking white males.

She said: "My executive team is very diverse, and I make that a priority. I demand it of my team and within the structure. And then, every now and then, you have to nudge your partners, and you have to speak up and speak out. And I try to use my platform for that.

“I try to set an example. I try to mentor many women inside my company and outside the company because I think it's important.

"And I talk to my suppliers about it. Just today we met with a supplier, and the entire other side of the table was all Caucasian males. That was interesting. I decided not to talk about it directly with [the supplier's] folks in the room because there were actually no females, like, levels down. So I'm going to place a call to him."

These overpaid do nothings, this is how they have done with this company in the last FIVE years in the stock price with those bonus' and annual salary they get. They are the worst. They are not leaders, just overpaid do nothings. Why would anyone ever invest in this company with their record? Look how much people have lost with this company. Board of Directors are a big part of it too.

S&P last week downgraded Walgreens' credit rating to one step above junk status, citing concerns about the company's ability to pay down debt and maintain strong cash flow.

IMPRESSIVE how embarrassing

If execs want to get any credibility, they should take $0 salaries.
Giving employees $0 bonus and 0% raises while they rake in millions is disgusting.

My time at Walgreens was the most miserable in my professional career. The only saving grace was a healthy bonus and a bit of a raise. And even with that, I very nearly threw in the towel and quit many times because the work/life balance was so horrible, my boss was narcissistic and unreasonable, and the stress was so high. I feel like I have PTSD from the experience to be honest. I'm so very, very glad to be out of that environment. If I were still working there and got that email, I think I'd quit on the spot.

Compare what your Walgreens is giving to it's employees for money/raises/bonus versus GM. Why would you stay, have some pride. How much more do you have to be insulted?

For GM
The 25% pay increases by April 2028 agreed to in the new contracts raise top pay to about $42 an hour, according to the union. That starts with an 11% immediate boost upon ratification, three annual raises of 3% each, and a final increase of 5%. The UAW said restoration of cost-of-living increases, which were suspended in 2009, could boost the total increases to more than 30%. Among items offered are an $11,000 ratification bonus to every full-time employee and $4500 to every temporary employee once the contract is accepte

25% evaluation is for field, because their bonus is 75% company performance and 25% individual performance. Support office is 100% company performance dependent bonus.

The appropriate class action suits by shareholders and those associates who have fallen victim to the discrimination, racism, and s-xism of this regime are long overdue.

Just saw a message sent to field leaders to send out. Only thing you will get is 25% for evaluation if you qualify. Multiplier is zero.
