I think you are right. They all knew what BL was doing and he got away with it. I am guessing it was performance likely driven by long legged distractions in the office.
They spent $1B buying into 50% offshore wind project with Equinor. They just wrote down $540 MM in development costs. There was no mention of that in the employee propaganda. They blame the poor performance on gas trading. Those trading numbers were always secretive so they can say what they want. How much oil do we have to pump to make up for that loss. The fluffed up board lets Looney Tunes do what he wants with these unrealistic aspirations for his selfish narcisstic gain to be this great visionary.
I guess now one might assume BL was let go because of company performance, and not because of E&C violations?
