How do so many of you know there'll be layoffs tomorrow? Is this just a rumor gone wild or is there something concrete that was announced that I somehow managed to miss? I don't want to get all worked up over this if there is nothing to get worked up over.

Where are you getting this information no confirmation of IKAMs being let go?
Hot off the Press out of Maitland,Florida. All of the iKAMs were let go today. Another example of mismanaged representatives.
Tis the season at least they didn’t wait until the week before Thanksgiving. Heads are rolling cutting the top and working way down.
I have an 8 am call with my VP. Other people are being called in. This is typically the time of year when Staples does layoffs to avoid the holidays and avoid paying out bonuses.
Source with contact in security confirmed security has been asked to work extra hours towards the end of this week.
The WARN act only goes into effect if they are laying off 100 or more typically per state. So if there aren't having multiple in one state, they dont have to report it.
Does Staples have to report any mass layoffs to be in compliance with the WARN Act or do they find ways around this?
They don’t “announce” layoffs in advance. This seems like insider info from someone in or close to HR. We’ll see. Usually when there’s a specific date and number here it’s been accurate over the past 10 years.
