Shell Singapore - Will you Stay & Wait for Layoff or Leave?

Seems like most folks are taking the wait and see approach rather than abandoning ship. Which do you choose?

Apparently there are two buyers willing to buy over operations in Singapore.
The boys were tasked to clean up the whole place before the buyer's representative came to take a look. However, nothing could cover the mismanagement and neglect caused by decades of inaction, dirt and grime.
The buyers do not realize the Singapore operation is unlike any other, anywhere, as wastefulness is embedded into their culture. Logistics of operating out of an island, having to ship everything(!) out on boats, makes it unprofitable. Doubt they can change that geographical reality.
There are managers who knew Bukom is in bad condition and they jumped ship across to a unit nearby hoping they can save their as--s while bringing along their friends across too. These are the managers that screwed up Bukom so badly and now they just looking after their own backsides.
Almost half of the units on the island has been demolished. No sane buyer would want that as it is financial su----e to buy it over.
The units that have a little hope are the chemical plants but now that the integration and raw materials supply has been disrupted due to the demolishment, looks like feed has to be shipped from abroad, which will ki-l profitability. Heck even downstream customers are closing shop too.
It's possible the SG govt will statutorily acquire the island some time in the future to reclaim the sea around it and turn it into another productive industry altogether.
As is, whoever buys over these assets will soon turn red within two years if they do not remove the incompetent management.
To the boys still hoping for overpaid jobs, those days are over. It's better to go out and get onto a ship (or island) that isn't sinking.
Ironic that one team leader in the past rhetorically asked: Doesn't this island float on the sea? Yes, it's that stupid!
