You know, it's possible that Dell and his PE investor team won't agree to AVGO's negotiated (lower) Termination fee. That could be causing a delay in the deal withdrawal notice. Negotiations can take several days. That's not uncommon in these situations.

Rest assured, if the deal does not go through, there will be severance for many in 2024 under VMW.
