Is there any possibility China may approve the deal?
I do not see any reason for them to approve.
If they wanted, they would have already done so.
The deal is dead now.
Why are analysts still saying there is 50/50 chance?

Total confusion. If the goal was to issue a press release yesterday that made everyone involved in managing the deal look foolish, then mission accomplished. It's pitiful...
Yes or No = 50/50
Amazon is hiring temporary workers for the Christmas season.
50/50nis news speak for who the F knows.
You think they put this through an algorithm and said, it really looms like 55/45 plus or minus 3, but let’s just call it 50/50 to keep it simple.
The news has no idea WTF is going on other than “duh, dis ain’t what wuz supposed to happen, dats what I hurd”
I think we will definitely not have that type of stuff proliferated to the market at large and severances will be promoted while acceptances will be demoted. China will say much and so will hock leading to uncertain until the truths appear and then only those with he blessed knowledge shall understand the depths of their souls and employment status
FUBAR
The deal dies, stock will plunge but at least we can all look for other jobs while on payroll through the holidays until things open up in the job market.
If vmware keeps the planned layoffs and structure from BC (which is an option but why would they do that) then we get severance at least from Jan.
More likely is that it will take vmw leadership some time to untangle this and I don’t doubt a whole new crew and no changes will be made until that is done. This stale a-s group of losers will be out either way, and we get more time.
the way i see it, if intel was not able to acquire tower due to china not approving back in august then there is no way china will just magically approve another acquisition of 2 US companies of BC/VMW. They got more important stuff to worry about than worry about helping BC and VMW....
"sustaining Vmware 37,000 employees daily/weekly"
Why BC need to pay for this?
If the intention of China delaying this approval is politically motivated, then it is very difficult to see how Broadcom can move forward without getting consensus; and also the increasing cost of sustaining Vmware 37,000 employees daily/weekly and higher financing cost past the timelines ....
I agree it is much less than 50%. US will not back down on chip war, so no way China will approve it.
Where are you seeing analysts saying 50/50? Looking at all the news articles and haven't seen that anywhere.
Maybe there's negotiation happening under the table. Maybe Biden can help
Probably because it’s 50/50…
Probably because they have money on it and they are hedging their bets.
Why are analysts still saying there is 50/50 chance?
Coz, they didn't not approve? makes sense? Let me try again, because, they didn't deny it.
