Qualcomm Fiasco Revisited: Why AVGO Acquisitions Fail to Close

Hock Tan is a poor leader of desired business outcomes, just like the VMW leadership.

Why? Executive arrogance is not valued in deal-making, or strategic business planning.

Wow! People here talk like they could run a multi billion dollar semiconductor leader better than Hock. Get real, this is business, sh1t happens. This would not even be a discussion had US-China did not engage each other at the last minute.

Enron? Employees lost their jobs and their retirement savings investing in Enron. Get debt at 0% interest rate and pay 2% dividend? Why is fitch rating BBB-? Worse than VMW. Times up for such cheap tricks. VMW will do better. Thanks.

Does it matter that it was Trump that blocked that deal with Qualcomm, not anyone in China? https://archive.ph/GzsPI

Hock Tan a poor leader? Have you seen Broadcom's results in the past decade? I mean you don't really have to be smart to document yourself. All those people complaining about how this is horrible, are the same who will sell their souls to him after the first 140% bonus and after buying a beach house after a year of stock vesting.

Get real people! If all you care about are feeling and unlimited PTO go work for a no-profit.

Greedy corporations at the cost of screwing customers and employees. This delay in itself is damaging to the brand.

Delay is all part of HT plan. HT likes his culties chanting his name and singing his praises as he finally comes out with Xi on 26th November and closes the deal. I can get a taste for the cult-ure of BC.

Msft/activision was before this chip restriction issue. It now all depends on the meeting between Biden and Xi. If all goes well, Xi might throw a bone across or double down and offer zero.

The news I got is that they will close with or without China approval on November 5. Announcement will be made of closure on MainStage in Barcelona.

Well. He’d better get used to playing a bottom, for awhile. Code for “humble”

If it can happen for msoft/activision it can happen here.

Hock’s BAU play didn’t work, but he doesn’t give a fûck about our “feelings” anyway, so for him is just another business problem to solve.

A reporter calling him out on it don’t mean sh-t.

If there is a way to get it done, he will do it.

Don’t expect him to say anything about though, just look at his M.O. and how he operates.

So basically, sit down, STFU, and if you don’t like it - there is the Fn door.
