Outdated mechanical equipment(all) will be pulled out of service. Causing work to be outsourced. Cheaper for UP to use contractors.

Intermodal contractors and Maintenance in the way, contractors everywhere now!!
Sounds like a UP move.
- Get rid of old equipment they refused to maintain or replace.
- Get rid of the employees that operated the equipment since they don’t have it anymore.
- Contract out the work as needed to a contractor that has the equipment and pays it’s operators half of UP scale.
That’s how Vena “wins”.
