Blind-sighted?

Kayla, if you are reading this - please keep in mind that no one working will email you. Unfortunately, there is a trust issue. People have been burned and beat down.
People have been blind-sighted. There's tremendous fear of retaliation (despite policies). Even in the severance agreements they force people to sign away rights to report false claims act violations, their whistleblower protections, etc. among other provisions. Employees who have been let go in the lay offs were strong armed to sign their severance packages so they could feed their families. No one has the time or money to invest in legal fees for severance agreement reviews; it's just a form of bullying people into signing and they kick the door behind us on our way out.

This company is untouchable which is evident by what happen with the DOJ case in which the company repeatedly told lies. The DOJ should come in an investigate the data centers, uses of data, and all other things in between that they agreed to and have violated.

No one will likely email you. No one will take a risk whether currently employed or previously let go. The job market is tough, everyone has bills to pay and families to feed.
You cannot ensure anonymity based on what others indicated.

I will not send an email, but do know there is no rhyme nor reason for how the layoffs are done. Sometimes the worst are let go; most times the best are let go.

This is done via spreadsheet. HR or Finance sets a set of criteria. A spreadsheet is created and then filtered. If your name show up on the filtered list, it is your time.

It sure looks and sounds like you write FOR UHG and other big companies. No stories about the horrible situation the American worker is in. The wage gap gets bigger, jobs move offshore and government money used to pay these offshore people. That's a story right there.

I don't feel comfortable emailing, but yes I was impacted. I was boldly honest on my employee satisfaction survey as well as in comments on a townhall meeting. I believe the company tied that to me and chose me to go because of it. They do not like people who can see through their BS and call them out on it. So much corruption. To much to type out. Just go through all of the threads/comments on this platform. You'll have plenty for a story. More than one.

Not just India. Jobs are being sent to Puerto Rico and the Phillipines as well. I have nothing against anyone earning an honest living, I just don't trust there is honesty off shore or that the American peoples info is being as protected overseas like it is here. I have called IT and HR direct for issues and can hear loud wind blowing, many dogs barking, and even horns blowing. Doesn't at all sound like work is being done in an office with a lock on the door as our telecommuter policy dictates. UHG and all of it's leaders are corrupt and only care about lining their own pockets. There's your story.

No story here nothing new. Insert company name here and same applies in every industry with full knowledge of the government.

UHG is getting rid of American jobs and sending them offshore to cheaper countries they can exploit. Meanwhile giving Andrew Witty and his cronies huge bonuses while the employees that actually do work get nothing.

Medical records in the millions are being sent offshore for transcribing and storage. Blatant violation of federal law.

Kayla, that you think offshoring is a story for Optum is shady to say the least! This is not new, it’s been going on for the last ten years. What is happening at Optum is the Euro leadership is finally handing the majority of IT support overseas. Since UHG wants government contracts they put themselves in vulnerable position because HIPA data is difficult or impossible to shield from IT staff. Here you go, insider info, India support staff blatantly violate security protocols and share user accounts, collaborate on seemingly everything so that unauthorized access to patient information is happening. Now how do you catch them, whistleblower, good luck!

I'm happy to chat on background if that makes anyone feel more comfortable. The last thing I want to do is get anyone in trouble for speaking out.

I know people really want to be heard, but please use caution when interacting with this person. Her last year of bylines include several pieces that could be construed as UHG PR plants.

Is that what's happening at Optum? Feel free to reach out to me about it.

If you want a story, please look into how US-based employees are laid off and shifting work to Offshore - while most of the business comes from govt. funded programs, like CMS, Medicare, and Medicaid. Our tax dollars at work in some other country.
