If the deal falls apart VMware shareholders will lose tens of billions of dollars. Why in the world would the VMware board accept a reduction of the $1.5B termination fee? What would Broadcom have to offer in exchange?
Customers, as well as Wall Street, will be disappointed by the continued volatility.
Hock's legal team must already be negotiating a settlement on the Termination fee. That's why the Financial Times went ahead with their report earlier this morning.
Plan B is a possibility. Pay a reduced Termination fee and move on...
