They also said the deal would close on Oct 30th and alas here we are. All I hear are the death throws of a drowning man. I wonder, where are the BC trolls today.

It says they „expect“ it to happen before that date (Nov 26). Not that it really will happen.

Sadly, this now appears to end badly for all stakeholders. Even AVGO shareholders must be appalled by the way this process was handled. The tech media have feasted on the repeated executive failure, with numerous false statements about closing the deal ASAP.
That part of the statement made no sense to be either. I keep reading it over and over and it doesn’t make sense.
The Qualcomm board reached a settlement with AVGO on their Termination fee, but the outcome wasn't disclosed. We'll likely never know what amount the VMW payoff will be.

This means that they do not know when it will close but they are crossing their fingers and hoping that they can close before the dead date in November. In the mean time all bets are off. If you didn't get the letter then you are working for a boss that could did not keep you and you are on a team that is mostly out the door
