Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Severance in 2024/better tax wise

Now severance will be paid in Jan 2024, right? All I cared/hoped/prayed was to get this thing delayed by a couple of days and it’s happening

My speculation on how this is going to turn out: VMW stock plummets to 100-110

Wishful thinking, lot more than that.

More proof that Americans don't understand that there are other countries...

Point I was trying to make is that IF you're not laid off now by Broadcom, you will be laid off by VMW early next year. It's coming.

The only reason we did not have layoffs like the rest of tech is solely because of this deal and that alone. Let's not kid ourselves.

My speculation on how this is going to turn out:

  • Nov 26 comes, no progress made, deal is terminated
  • VMW stock plummets to 100-110
  • C suite goes into panic trying to figure out what to do next
  • Quiet times through end Dec
  • Layoffs announced early Jan for alignment to "economic conditions"
  • Last day on payroll sometime in mid March
  • Severance paid in March 2 months + 1 week/yr

Adios amigos! Hasta La Vista!

I don't believe so because it is becoming very apparent that BC is coming apart at the seems. They fired rhetoric all last week about the 30th which turned out to be complete garbage.
